This Story is More Interesting Than the End of... →
This LA Times article/interview with Star Wars/Empire Strikes Back Producer Gary Kurtz highlights some interesting stuff about what could have been.
Choice excerpt:
“The original idea was that they would recover [the kidnapped] Han Solo in the early part of the story and that he would then die in the middle part of the film in a raid on an Imperial base. George then decided he didn’t...
A Photo Project- Collaborative
Hey, so I have this idea.
I wrote down a bunch of stuff I thought made for good pictures awhile back. I planned to photograph everything on the list. In fact I still do plan to, but I realize I have a bunch of photography-inclined friends. So, consider this an invitation/challenge/request to capture some of the stuff on this list and maybe add further suggestions. Yea? Fuck yea!

Summer
Marc’s on my balcony looking up Home Alone quotes, and I’m watching Hey Arnold.
It’s the little things…

A Matter of $60NZ
In a bar in Auckland, an Irishman bet me $10 to hit on a very old, very overweight woman. I did so. Along with being rejected by a very old, very overweight woman, I felt a nagging sense that I had done something wrong and that my $10 was somehow tainted.
Tally: +10
About a week later, $60 weaseled its way out of my possession in a manner worthy of it’s own story.
Tally: -50

Woops, it's the 23rd. I fail the 30 day...
But dammit if that means I’m giving up!
Here’s 13 days compressed into one blog.
Day 11: A photo taken of me recently
Day 12: Whatever tickles your fancy
A cool new Against Me! song called I Was a Teenage Anarchist

Day 13: A Fictional Book
Any fictional book? Or one that I particularly like? The parameters of this day are not...
Day 7
A photo that makes you happy
Day 5
Favorite Quote according to the blog I’m ripping off:
Other than the speech from Independence Day and anything the catcher from the Sandlot says, I like this from Walt Whitman’s “Spontaneous Me.”
The real poems, (what we call poems being merely pictures,)
The poems of the privacy of the night, and of men like me,
This poem, drooping shy and unseen, that I always...

OKAY
I didn’t post anything yesterday so I guess I lose the 30 day challenge. I’ll get caught up today though. I’ll also do one extra so that I can end on April 30th.
So
#2 Favorite Movie-
This is a really tough, fluctuating category but I would probably usually be pretty happy with saying The Mirror by Andrei Tarkovsky is my favorite movie, and not just because it’s...
30 Days of...
Day 1.
We’re in this together!
30 days of me spouting out stuff you may or may not care about. I stole these questions from Elizabeth. Let it begin.
Favorite Song-
According to my iTunes count, “Are you there Margaret? It’s Me, God” by The Lawrence Arms has been played the most. For a good period “Everchanging” by Rise Against was my favorite song...

So it begins with this tree. Maybe it’s the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil or Yggdrasil or Bohdi Tree, but in any case it’s one of the very first trees.
Looking over at that tree is the very first man (I forget his name). The man is sweaty and sticky as the sun shoots golden drops at him called raise. When the man sits under the tree, a cooling sensation sweeps over him. He...

What do you think of the conceptualization of time? I am reading a scholar who suggests that the division of time into past, present, and future is a spatialization of temporality, and therefore a “mistake” in so much as time is not space. What say you?
Yea, I dig this!
The way I see it, the linear way that humans experience time is not really a mistake. The past,...

And no I don’t mean my centerfold in NUDES TODAY MAGAZINE. That’s next month’s issue.
Ask me questions anonymously, and I spose I answer them. There’s not really any quality control in place, so we’ll see how this goes.

A Well-Timed List
As if wearing my soaps, chanting Fresh Prince theme-song lyrics, and broadcasting my love of the Foxtrot wasn’t enough, here’s one of those best-of-the-decade posts that showcases how with-the-times that I am.
Everybody loves lists: the Others, Moses, R.E.M. Here’s me hopping on the bandwagon.
